REAL WEDDINGS

Maria & Mickey wanted a natural, relaxed approach to wedding photography, so having met them at a wedding fair at Eynsham Hall, we hit it off straight away! For me, real emotion and relaxed images beat awkward posing all day long. When we talk about taking shots of just the bride and groom, my best piece of advice is always to interact with each other as much as possible. Talk, laugh, tickle, whisper something inappropriate, anything to make you relax! The rest of the day is about catching real moments, and these are shots you'll love the most.

Maria's Dad had done up the family Mini especially for the wedding day, her Mum took care of the bouquets, the personalised cake had been assembled, and both Maria and Mickey had written speeches. I totally love it when brides make speeches! I see more and more brides doing it every year it seems - it's definitely becoming a more popular choice. All of the table decorations were home-made, which is a great way to save a bit of money if you're crafty enough, and the wedding stationery was sourced from Etsy.

The Bay Tree is a venue I know really well having married my wife there in 2017, and it's perhaps my most popular venue in Oxfordshire. It's such a stunning place to get married - a lovely mixture of quintessentially British charm and thoughtful contemporary touches. Plus there's room enough for all of your guests to stay, and a walled garden to let the kids run loose, if you're planning on having kids come along to the wedding that is! The staff work extremely hard behind the scenes to make sure your day runs smoothly, and the food is absolutely spectacular. If you're looking for a traditional cotswolds venue, you have to check it out!

Here are a few of my favourite images from the day!
