I love photographing couples like this who are so clearly in love, and at a venue like this it makes my job so rewarding - everywhere you turn there's something else stunning to capture, and I ended up giving Alice & Alex about 100 more photographs than I would usually...! I honestly couldn't narrow it down.
I met with the happy pair a couple of days ago to go through their images, and we spent the time laughing and reminiscing about moments in the day that they had missed.
"How did you capture that? We didn't even see you!"
It's a matter of professional pride for me that I spend as much of the day unseen as possible. I see it as stealing moments, and that means blending in in a particular way:
I'll chat with guests, crack jokes, anything to make everyone feel comfortable with my presence in a way that allows guests to let their guards down.
This allows me to capture emotion, and ultimately emotions are what you want to remember from your wedding day. Nerves, joy, embarrassment, love - all are special and so important!
Alice & Alex invested in some absolutely amazing suppliers to help make their day run smoothly, and this led to something pretty special. The staff at Merriscourt deserve to be thanked as well - they took care of the whole day and worked hard behind the scenes to make sure everything came off without a hitch, and I have to say having that sort of dedication as a safety net on your day is soooo reassuring...!
